Following the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filing a closure report on the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, BJP MLA Ram Kadam has accused the former Maharashtra government, led by Uddhav Thackeray, of deliberate negligence in the investigation.
Kadam claimed that the Shiv Sena-led government not only failed to conduct a proper probe but also obstructed Bihar Police from investigating the case in Mumbai.
“When the entire country was demanding that Sushant Singh Rajput’s case be handed over to the CBI, the Uddhav Thackeray government deliberately ignored it. When Bihar Police arrived in Mumbai to investigate, they were stopped. Why? To protect certain individuals linked to the then-government? All evidence was erased—furniture from Sushant’s residence was removed, the place was repainted, and everything was returned to the owner,” said Kadam in a self-made video.
He further alleged that had the case been transferred to the CBI at the right time, justice would have been served to Sushant’s family. “If they are not getting justice today, the Uddhav Thackeray government is responsible for it,” he added.
The CBI filed its closure report in a Mumbai court on Saturday, nearly five years after Sushant’s death. The actor was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, sparking nationwide controversy. His postmortem report from Cooper Hospital cited asphyxia as the cause of death.
Meanwhile, in a separate but related case, Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has approached the Bombay High Court, seeking a probe into his daughter’s mysterious death and filing an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray and others. Disha Salian, who was Sushant’s former manager, was found dead on June 8, 2020, just days before the actor’s demise.
As political blame games continue over the case, the closure report by CBI raises further questions, leaving many seeking answers and justice.
